At 21, Ferrill Gibbs taught himself to play guitar. He started writing songs and joined a college rock band.
He even made a few albums.
One day, Ferrill found his muse: an Auburn girl named Elizabeth “Fischer” Gibbs.
She married him in 2005.
Thus began an annual tradition of Ferrill writing “anniversary songs."
Every year, for the past 20 years, he presented to her a song each 2nd day of September.
They attempted to chronicle a life spent loving together: the gardens, pets, the devastating floods – the griefs, joys, and triumphs. Ferrill's music points to a shared set of cherished memories.
He hopes to always be a decent composer of love songs.
